Tonight! I’m hosting the first half of Harold Night at 7:30 at UCB Chelsea to promote my show The Fascinator (next show September 8th, 7 PM UCBeast with Silvija Ozols, Corey Brown, Michelle Wolf and Phil Jackson) and I hope you can come see it! I’m probably going to end up talking about gross facts you didn’t want to know! It will be fun, I promise.
Photo by Ben Ragheb, from the July show with James Adomian, Ruby Marez, Streeter Seidell and Tracey Wigfield. Stage lights do really weird things to colors, because that sweater is not that color and my hair has only been that color like twice and not at all in the last year.
I got a new 8GB memory card for my camera so now I can shoot photos in RAW format which retains more information (versus JPEG) and that makes it easier to color-correct so when I finally upload the next batch of photos the incorrectness of the colors will be 100% my fault and not the stage lights!
(srsly tho color is the perception of light reflected by a material and so it has no meaning independent of the light it so it’s wrong to say colors under stage lights are “wrong” unless you think there is one form of true light and all other lights are approximations)
