Or Stay and Drink Beer (via Jason “Textfiles” Scott)
A two-page magazine ad for Infocom’s text adventure edition of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. This is from a set of Infocom ads from the 1980s. Sadly, many of them try to push the message that text adventures are “better” that other video games because no graphics means you get to use your imagination. Basically the same argument for book reading over television watching. It’s got some merit, but ultimately, trying to spin a shortcoming as an advantage unfortunately doesn’t carry the scent of success.
