Lowest of the Low - “For The Hand Of Magdelena”
One reason I don’t often post songs or talk about music in general is because I assume everything I listen to is something that everybody else has heard before. I grew up listening to top n radio and never had a friend with an album collection who wanted to “turn me on to” any particular band.
However, I’m fairly certain you have never heard of Lowest of the Low. They were a Canadian rock group that I discovered in college by punching random words into Napster (the earlier, illegal file sharing incarnation). Their music is catchy and the lyrics are clever. Or at least, clever sounding.
Clark Gable with a bayonet, you never thought anyone could look so cool
And she could handle that Soviet pistol like she learned to do it in school
You fell in love in an air raid, a bombshell sanctioned attraction
You were wet with fear, she was wet with passion
If enough people like this I might post more of their stuff, and maybe some songs by the other band you’ve never heard of, The Spaceshots.
