If you’re registered to vote in New York City, you should. Find your polling place and learn about the candidates here. It matters.

Politicians decide who to pay attention to by looking at voting results. Who you vote for is secret, but the fact that you showed up and voted is public record. Candidates use those lists to determine what doors to knock on and, therefore, who they need to listen to. So get in the habit of showing up and pulling the lever, even if you cast “no vote” on every race.
