Louis C.K.: Live At The Beacon Theater (2011) is available as a torrent on The Pirate Bay

As I write this there are 617 people seeding the file, and another 119 in the process of downloading. (If you don’t understand how torrenting works, read the brief beginner’s guide on LifeHacker.)

atndigcrk, the user who initially seeded it, begins the file description,

yea its the new one yea i kinda feel bad putting it here but people like louis ck gotta realize without torrents and the net he wouldnt be anywhere bc honestly louis i know ur here and i know u mite be mad at me but u gotta realize not everyone has paypal , not everyone has credit cards, some people use net lounges, some have barely money for food, art = comedy should be shared with the mass , and Believe me u can judge the popularity more from the torrent downloads then the paypal sales, also if people like it , its easier to buy on there ipad/ipod or personal/work computers…more buzz = more fales

Hope you understand louie

sorry

This text is followed by Louis C.K.’s message “to those who might wish to ‘torrent’ this video”, right there in the description of the torrent file.

The comments are also very interesting. Many of them are imploring people to buy the special through Louis’s website, some are rationalizing why they don’t need to, and others are chastising atndigcrk for posting it in the first place. For example, by r00tz0r:

It’s people like you who ruin file sharing. Your behaviour can be paralleled to a girl in one of my university final examinations some years back. The professor had photocopied the answer key to the back of our examination by mistake and was unaware of it. Midway through the examination, the girl raised her hand and informed the professor. She was known as “that girl” from that day forward.

You are now known as “that guy.”

I think r00tz0r is trying to say that atndigcrk is the one person who ruins it for everybody, while ignoring the detail (of his own story) that “that girl” was the lone person trying to do the right thing.

Maybe the analogy fits if atndigcrk is the professor; once you put that answer key is out there, you can’t really take it back. The test is ruined.

Nah, none of it makes any sense, really.
